University of Georgia

The University of Georgia, founded in 1785 by the Georgia General Assembly, is a comprehensive land and sea grant institution composed of 17 schools and colleges. UGA’s mission calls for an ongoing search for knowledge in all fields. Research and inquiry drive the University forward – and improve lives in Georgia and around the world. The University’s motto, “to teach, to serve, and to inquire into the nature of things,” reflects the University of Georgia’s integral and unique role in the conservation and enhancement of the state’s and nation’s intellectual, cultural, and environmental heritage.
